There were many different types of supernatural abilities that hunters could wield.
They ranged from magic-like abilities based on various elements to psychic-like powers capable of twisting the rules of the world itself.
The one thing they had in common was that hunters used the mana they had accumulated, but the ways in which that mana could be utilized varied tremendously.
In the former case, if someone was born with sufficient affinity for a particular attribute and possessed talent for mana as well, they could manifest supernatural abilities through training and mastery.
Shooting fireballs at monsters, firing blasts of cold, and so on.
This was also the image that the general public most readily associated with ability-type hunters.
But in the latter case, one needed to be born with a unique constitution from the very beginning.
Healing abilities, mental abilities, detection abilities, and so on.
All of them manifested supernatural…
