There was no one in the corridor.Jeonghwa ran frantically, and just as the entrance came into view, she heard chaotic footsteps nearby.
She quickly hid inside a nearby room.Leaving the door slightly open, she peeked outside and saw several soldiers running past with weapons in hand.
She could not tell whether they were heading to stop the intruders or fleeing from them.
Even Jeonghwa had noticed by now that the number of soldiers around the king was steadily decreasing.Everyone was running away.
Even though she acted as if she knew nothing, she understood at least that much.Maybe the maid had also used the excuse of checking the situation to disappear somewhere.
