Chapter 6: Reincarnated as a Supporting Character in a Tragic Novel (5)

‘Is it because I didn’t say the words out loud?’

Eliana felt a bit of courage when she saw the slight effect on the teacup, even if just for a moment.

Of course, mustering the confidence to say the spell aloud wasn’t easy for Eliana in this regard.

Magic was natural here, but not in her world.

She came from a world where gold didn’t fall from the sky just because it was a novel. What a scam!

But now, she had to be brave and confident.

‘I’m not embarrassed at all. I have to be confident!’

But Eliana hesitated. She didn’t do anything.

“What are you doing? Hurry up and do something.”

Finn urged her.

“Ugh…!”

“What’s the point of staring at the teacup, Miss Eliana?”

Finn replied with a relaxed smile.

She could clearly tell that her mistress was lying again.

Yes, she had to go through some embarrassment for Finn to believe her.

With determination in mind, Eliana closed her eyes and shouted, “Freeze, hop!”

“…”

A dreadful silence followed.

Unfortunately, the teacup didn’t even shake.

No, the echo of Eliana’s voice created a small ripple in the water.

Swish—

‘It didn’t move when I said it out loud, so what’s the difference?!’

Eliana covered her red face with her hands.

She wanted to die.

Oh, she had already died once, but in this moment, she wanted to die again.

Eliana looked almost ready to cry.

“What are you doing?”

Too late, Finn stared at Eliana in shock.

Apparently, her mistress was crazy.

Eliana was so embarrassed that she screamed and stopped Finn from saying anything else.

“Wait! I just got my powers… Yes! A mentor, I need a mentor!”

“Huh, Miss Eliana.”

Finn shook her head, knowing she couldn’t do anything to stop Eliana.

‘No, this isn’t fair! Didn’t I unleash ice when I froze Marquis Valkyrie’s face?’

Thoughts raced through her mind without stopping.

‘Is that all? I got rid of Count Museau when he tried to get to me, and I shouted “Ugh!” and then a pillar of ice suddenly appeared.’

Honestly, she couldn’t tell her what she was thinking.

Eliana somehow felt wronged.

She couldn’t offer any rebuttal, so she kept her mouth shut.

A real sorcerer wouldn’t have to make embarrassing excuses like this because they could prove their power.

But she didn’t know how to use magic.

And she didn’t know the exact way to use it.

‘What a useless body! I can use magic when I don’t want to, but when I actually need it, I can’t.’

It wasn’t as if someone who was wild all the time off-stage suddenly became shy when put on stage!

Eliana struck her chest in frustration.

Then, a good idea came to her mind.

‘Yes, there’s a way!’ Eliana thought proudly with a satisfied smile.

“If you don’t believe me, go back to the Museau estate. I’m the one who caused all that chaos there.”

“You’re going to escape while I’m gone, aren’t you? I know all your tricks, Miss Eliana.”

But Finn still couldn’t believe her and looked at her suspiciously.

She seemed very wary of Eliana’s sudden change in attitude.

Still, she would have a different reaction if she returned to the mansion. Many people had witnessed the chaos unfold.

Eliana clung to Finn’s arm and pleaded with her.

“No! If you don’t believe me, you can lock me in that room over there. I’m telling the truth.”

“How could I do that to you, Miss Eliana?” Finn shook her off in horror.

Weren’t there maids who locked their masters in rooms?

Well, it was more about protecting them than keeping them there, but that didn’t make sense.

“I won’t go anywhere.”

“No, no.”

“I promise.”

“Do you think you can fool me twice, Miss Eliana?”

Finn was more stubborn than she thought.

Eliana wanted to tear her hair out in frustration, but Finn stopped her.

“Don’t do that to your hair!”

“…”

“Why do I even bother? Last time, you said you wouldn’t escape, but the Count caught you trying to sneak out of the estate.”

“That…”

“That’s not all you did. You lied whenever you got the chance, and if I didn’t believe you, you’d get upset.”

Eliana was at a loss for words.

It seemed the original Eliana in the novel had deceived Finn several times.

‘It won’t be easy to convince her.’

Her head started throbbing because of this unexpected difficulty.

As Eliana continued arguing with Finn, the door opened, and their gazes swung toward it.

Eliana’s face lit up. She had been waiting for this man to appear.

The young man’s eyes widened upon seeing Eliana.

He didn’t know they had a visitor.

He had dark green hair.

It was swept back in a way that revealed his forehead.

With small, dark green eyes.

He had a sharp face but also had features similar to Finn’s.

He was so tall that Eliana had to look up, and his clothes were stained with something red.

When he entered, he smelled a bit strange.

“Brother, close the door!”

Finn shook Bonil’s arm.

She was certain it was him, as she saw he was her brother. Finn had only one brother.

And of course, he was just a pawn.

Hera’s servant and the same man who would lead Eliana to Hera!

‘The stain on his clothes looks like blood… He must have been on a mission to subdue monsters, right?’

Eliana looked at him with a glint in her eyes.

Bonil stared back at her with suspicion.

He was Hera’s servant, who did all the dirty work but was also the leader of the mercenaries.

“Who’s this?” Bonil asked, winking at Eliana, who was dressed in luxurious clothes.

It seemed the two had never met.

Eliana was used to staying only at the estate, so she couldn’t have met any of Hera’s followers.

But the way he looked at her seemed more hostile than friendly.

His attitude was disrespectful, as if she were a nuisance.

Eliana kept focusing on him with the same greed in her eyes, but she stopped when she saw his face.

Then Finn scolded him.

“What’s with that murderous look? Aren’t you going to greet her?” She hit Bonil on the back.

“Who is she?”

“Miss Eliana.”

“What? But why is she here?”

Only then did Bonil realize that the woman before him was Eliana Museau. His face flushed with embarrassment.

Finn didn’t care about his expression and clapped her hands together, taking advantage of the situation.

“Brother, I’m glad you’re here. I’m going to the Museau estate for a bit, so please keep an eye on her.”

Finn ordered, then grabbed her bag.

Bonil suddenly rushed toward Finn in a panic. He had been put in a position where he had to stay alone with a young noble lady.

“Wait, Finn!”

“Don’t even think about going anywhere, Miss Eliana!”

Finn warned her, slipped out of her brother’s grasp, and left quickly.

“Haaah…”

Bonil let out a deep sigh, as if he had been tasked with an annoying job. He pulled a chair and sat in front of the door.

All to keep an eye on Eliana in case she planned to escape.

‘Even if she didn’t, I have no intention of escaping.’

Eliana sipped the tea with a satisfied smile.

It was a bit cold, but it wasn’t bad at all.

It didn’t take long for Finn to return.

Finn grabbed Eliana’s hand, excitement written all over her face, and shouted.

“My goodness! My lady is a sorceress! You have ice powers!”

“Do you believe me now?”

“The estate was in complete chaos. The Count was yelling at the servants, demanding they find you.”

Finn expressed her amazement with excitement and joy.

Eliana spoke in a somewhat smug tone.

“See? I told you. I’m very powerful.”

“Yes, yes. I believe you, I believe you.”

And although Bonil sat at a distance, the color drained from his face. The expression on his face was blank, as if he were lifeless.

Among the magical world, Eliana possessed ice powers, so it was natural for her to shine in his eyes.

Hera would be looking for someone to bend to her will, so Eliana’s ability surely wouldn’t go unnoticed.

While Finn recounted to Eliana the trouble she caused at the mansion, Bonil interrupted their conversation.

“Given what happened, it would be prudent not to return there.”

When Finn realized her brother’s words were true, she said in a solemn tone.

“We have to go, miss. I can take care of you.”

“Don’t be ridiculous. How can you hide from the Count? Miss, may I make a suggestion?”

Bonil asked in a polite tone.

Eliana nodded eagerly at his words.

“Tell me.”

“I have a client who helps people like you. I’m sure they’ll help you once they learn of your situation.”

“Is that true, brother?” Finn turned to her brother, as if what she heard was good news.

‘This is perfect!’

She was very positive that Hera was the ‘client’ Bonil mentioned.

Eliana crafted a sad face while screaming with joy inside.

“Well, that’s better than hiding. Then I beg you, please help me.”

“Of course. I’ll arrange something soon.”

“I’m so happy for you, miss.” Finn smiled with relief, and Bonil looked pleased.

But of course, Eliana was the happiest among the three.

Everything was going according to plan.

I was reincarnated as the villainess, Eliana Museau, who was killed by the cunning Emperor.   Instead of doing nothing and dying according to the novel, I planned a way to survive by seeking him out.   But… something is wrong?   I haven’t done anything yet, but the Emperor started clinging to me first.   * * *   “Don’t go.”   Verkley grabbed Eliana’s collar. His gaze was entirely focused on her. Then he whispered pleadingly once more.   “You’ve tamed me, Lily. You have to take responsibility for that.”   He gently squeezed her hand. And before she knew it, Verkley’s lips brushed the tips of Eliana’s fingers.   From the tips of her fingers to the back of her hand, his lips trailed kisses as if leaving a mark.   His eyes remained fixed on Eliana the entire time.   With an unreadable expression, he pulled Eliana’s arm.   And closed the distance between them.   Then he leaned in with a low voice and a cunning smile.   “If you leave, I’ll kill that bastard.”
