The three of them had just finished eating their fill.
Jade came rubbing his eyes into the dining room, and when he saw Christine, he rubbed them again.
"It's really Mister Count."
"Doing well, squirt?"
The boy's short legs carried him across the room in a mad dash, and he threw his arms around Christine in a tight hug.
"I really missed you. Why didn't you come all this time?"
While the silver wolf was being treated, the children had been kept strictly away from the sickroom. Thanks to that, Jade and Paulin had no idea the silver wolf even existed.
Jade seemed to think Christine had only just arrived.
"I was busy."
"Oh, right! Mister Count's the captain of the Imperial Guard, and he has to train the White Ghost Knights too. Isn't that right?"
