John ground his teeth and called her name in a low voice, but Harriet did not even look at her uncle. Instead, she introduced the man who had come with her to the imperial investigator.
“This is Baron Alfonso Villet. He is the person who witnessed my parents’ accident from the closest distance.”
John reacted instantly.
“What kind of lie is that?!”
Only then did Harriet turn her gaze toward him.
“Oh, I suppose you weren’t the closest one. There were two other people near my parents as well.”
