Terni plopped down beside me, grumbling. Once again, I pretended not to hear and kept my eyes fixed on my book.

It was a book I'd borrowed from Marie, but it wasn't as interesting as I'd hoped.

“Arti, do you really like books that much?”

“Not really.”

“Do you like books more, or me?”

“Books.”

“What? You just said you don't like books!”

That's exactly my point.

At my cold reaction, Terni began whining at the top of his lungs and shaking me wildly.

By now I'd built up a little tolerance for Terni's tantrums, so I was able to keep reading stubbornly.

After whining for a good while, Terni abruptly changed his expression and marveled.

“What's this, Arti? Not bad!”

“Heh. It's all thanks to you, Brother.”

Terni, arms crossed and nodding proudly, suddenly wore an ‘Oops’ look.
