Once I vanished, he would shake with a sense of betrayal, but I hoped he would someday understand that it had been the better path for him. Even this was nothing more than an excuse.
I clenched and unclenched my trembling hands a few times, then headed for the reception room where Ash was waiting.
The office building, past working hours, was quiet.
