The sound of water falling echoed softly.

King Simoni King looked out through the thick stone-framed window into the dark night sky.

Snow mixed with rain fell over the palace buildings buried in darkness. The border regions were still covered in snow, but in the royal capital, spring could already be felt in the air.

As the king murmured quietly, the chief attendant’s voice answered from nearby.
