Chapter 80 – Adoration
Meisel stood in front of the mirror, dressed in a dazzling rose-colored gown. The jewels sewn onto the hem clinked pleasantly against each other, but she still wasn’t satisfied.
“The middle looks too empty. I need more gems added.”
Behind her, the two young noblewomen who had been invited sighed quietly. Normally, Meisel wouldn’t even glance at them—daughters of mere barons. But today she had dragged them along only to flatter her and play the role of attendants at the dress shop.
The higher-ranked ladies would never bother to follow her here anyway.
So the two girls had spent hours praising every dress she tried on, worn out from constantly saying “So pretty!” and “So beautiful!”
“The summer fabric is thin… If we add more weight, the hem may tear,” the dressmaker cautioned smoothly, unlike the exhausted noblewomen.
