The place Bella rushed to while pushing Terry to hurry was Count Pellon’s mansion. She had already calculated that Harriet would willingly agree to meet her.
‘She’ll want to see me crying and begging. How fun would that be for her?’
Bella had even prepared an excuse to lower the Pellon household’s guard.
“I’ll be leaving for a convent soon. Before that, I came to apologize to Harriet. If she refuses, there’s nothing I can do, but could you at least deliver my message to her?”
Sure enough, the butler returned with Harriet’s answer saying she would meet her, and he guided Bella into the drawing room.
In front of the servants, Bella acted fragile and pitiful, but as she walked through the hallway of the mansion, a cold smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.
She hadn’t come to ask for forgiveness or to beg for mercy.
