Secret Promise The workers who ran after them shouted loudly:
“The child is hurt!”
“Hurry! Bring medicine! He has a bad burn!”
A worker rushed forward carrying a child and placed him on the table.
“Waaah!”
The child cried loudly in pain.
Some people ran off to call a doctor.
“What happened?”
As Annette stepped forward, the crowd quickly moved aside.
“Y-Your Highness! Please save my child!”
The worker shouted, his face pale.
“We were working with the hot spring water… and then…!”
Another worker explained quickly.
While connecting the pipes, he had looked away for a moment. The child had been playing nearby and touched the pipe—then hot spring water burst out.
The child’s soft skin was badly burned.
He cried in agony.
Annette’s slightly dizzy mind instantly became clear.
“Is there no doctor in this village?”
“They’ve gone to bring one from the next village!”
“But that doctor…
