After Magnus's proposal, Eliza found herself looking at Leopold without meaning to.

He was smiling with his teeth clenched.

"I'm sure there will be many ladies who would be honored to partner Your Highness."

"Viscount Alastair, so we meet face to face at last. I know how much you cherish your wife, but monopolizing one's partner spoils the mood."
