Gorgo stepped in front of Lucy protectively and looked at the Dowager Duchess with a grim expression.

She had brought a large group of maids and guards with her. It looked like she had planned this from the beginning.

Normally, she would have stayed hidden in her room out of fear of Edward.

But Edward happened to be away.

She clearly knew that, and it had made her much bolder.

We fell into their trap.

Gorgo bitterly admitted it as he recalled what had happened.

After Clara sent him outside, he had been standing guard in front of the room.

Just as he tightened his grip on his sword...

"Aaaah!"

A desperate scream echoed nearby.

It sounded like Sophie, the maid who had gone to look for medicine for Lucy.

What happened?

The scream came from close to where Lucy was.

And it belonged to the maid accompanying…
