The monster mister stopped shaking his leg.
His voice telling me to let go disappeared, and silence settled over us.
It was an eerily calm atmosphere, one that couldn't be explained by silence alone.

When I lifted my head, my eyes met the golden ones staring down at me.
They shone as brightly as the sun, yet somehow looked as dark as the dead of night.
My shoulders instinctively shrank, and I buried my face against his leg again, speaking in a tiny, trembling voice.
“D-Daddy……”
I felt the mister flinch.
He must have hated it that much.
