Having sent Winston out of the drawing room and followed him into the hallway, Olivia spotted Masha bursting out of the next room and greeted her warmly.

“Were you nearby?”

“Of course. Would I be far away when something was bound to happen?”

Masha, cutting off Olivia before she could say anything, clung to the railing and quickly scanned the upper and lower floors, then pushed her back inside, telling her to hurry in. Only after firmly closing the door and seating Olivia on the sofa did Masha ask.

“How did it go?”

“It went well. You don’t have to worry about being thrown out anymore.”

“Exactly how? Are you becoming a Greenwood? Huh?”

Olivia relayed everything she had discussed with Winston, without missing a single thing, for Masha’s sake, who had suffered as much as she had. As Masha’s expression, changing moment by moment, finally brightened, Olivia’s mood somehow…
